Getting the Mesage Out There
One of the major tasks with any EC-funded project is dissemination. Yesterday I took the opportunity to tell the Archaeology Terminology Working Group (ATWG) about our international work.Dissemination in EC-funded project jargon is basically a project advertising its work to its community of users and stakeholders. Usually in each project there is a work package dedicated to doing this.
It is seen as important both to the project and the Commission as a way of increasing the impact of the work. In Europeana related projects one major task is to ‘recruit’ organisations to contribute content to the portal through the various projects.
At the ATWG I gave an overview on what is happening both in Europeana in general and in the two projects in particular. So I talked about the Europeana portal and its ‘success’ at launch and then went on to discuss the surveys we are caring out in to standards use.
I and other staff will take other such opportunities to tell people about our work.
