Planning for Aggregation
I meet today with the co-ordinator of the EuropeanaLocal project to today to organise a workshop at Collection Trust’s offices at London Bridge, for project partners, on setting up an aggregation.The purposes of the day will be to:
- Give an overview of the technical support service which EuropeanaLocal’s technical partners will provide;
- Look at the implementation manual, which will be the prime reference for partners submitting content through the project to Europeana;
- Have an introduction to metadata transformation including: extraction; normalization and population.
- Repository (aggregation) installation.
The London workshop is part of a set of four. The first will be held in Belgium, the other two in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic.
Today’s meeting will concentrate on the praticalities of the day.
